Cosimo Maria Masini - biodynamic passion
The company Cosimo Maria Masini is based at the Tenuta di Poggio, which is situated in the heart of Tuscany, a land that has always been known for its vineyards and wine production.
The company, situated on an estate where the farming of vineyards and olive groves dates back to the 1600s, was purchased in 1999 by Cosimo Masini, a young chartered engineer, who combines a passion for wine-making that embraces tradition and respect for nature with innovation and sustainable production: thus was born the choice of biodynamic farming.
At the Cosimo Maria Masini company native grapevines are farmed, both the red berry and white berry varieties, Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ceragiolo, Buonamico e Trebbiano, accompanied by the international grapevines Cabernet, Chardonnay e Sauvignon.
The olive groves, of the varieties Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo and Mignola Cerretana – the latter a now rarely grown cultivar– allow the production of high quality oils among which the Mignola oil truly stands out for its purity.
